Due to the corona, the central government banned the issuing of several sorts of visas to foreigners in March 2020. The Center has agreed to begin granting five-year e-tourist visas to nationals of 156 countries immediately. Regular tourist paper visas for all qualifying countries have also begun to be issued for a term of five years. According to existing rules, nationals of these countries will also be eligible for the issuing of new e-visas for visitors. The government took the action "in light of the improvement in the Covid-19 situation in the nation and the necessity for further relaxing of visa and travel restrictions," according to the home ministry.
