Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise department wrote to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to discontinue the Rythu Bandhu scheme to 148 farmers who were booked for cultivating marijuana. According to the reports, 121 cases were filed against 148 farmers who were caught while cultivating marijuana. The officials of the Excise department conducted searches across the state after receiving orders from CM KCR. A few farmers from Narayankhed, Mahabubabad, Zaheerabad, Warangal, Bhupalpally, Adilabad and Asifabad were booked for cultivating the marijuana. The officials also identified farmers from Nalgonda and Suryapet cultivating marijuana and they seized the land documents and handed them over to the district Collectors.
