        The Election Commission will appoint Campus Ambassadors in colleges to enthuse students take part in voter enrolment and verification. Three or four students will be selected for each college in the state and a day-long training will be imparted to them to take up voter verification and new enrolment in their colleges. Ravi Kiran, Joint CEO informed the listeners during Live Phone-in Programme of All India Radio, Hyderabad today. Replying to listeners’ queries, he said voter verification drive named “Mega Million Launch” began on September 1st  throughout the country. He said voters can get their details checked even after voters draft list is released. 

         Ravi Kiran said the voter verification drive which will continue for two months is aimed at facilitating the voters to verify their details in the EPIC voter cards like name, address, age and get them corrected if errors occurred. He said the voters can get the verification done through  www.nvsp.in or www.ceotelangana.in websites and the Election Commission’s Mobile App. The voters can correct their details which in turn will be verified by the Election officials for issuing new EPIC cards. The voters can also approach  E-Seva centres,  Common Service Centres (CSC) or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) in their areas. 

They can also call up 1-9-5-0 helpline number in this regard. BLOs will also take up a door-to-door survey for voter verification, he informed. 

        Stating that the voter's enrolment is also underway as part of verification drive, Jt CEO said those who completed 18 years of age as on January 1st 2019 are eligible to enrol themselves as voters. He said the new voters will be issued Voter EPIC cards free of cost. He added that special meetings will be held with IT companies and Resident Welfare Associations for greater participation in voter enrolment. Special stalls will also be put up in IT companies for the purpose. He also said the voters will be facilitated to tag their family members’ details if they wish to exercise their franchise in the same polling station henceforth.   

       Replying to listeners’ queries, Ravi Kiran said all steps are underway to weed out duplicate cards. He also said that the voter card of a person cannot be deleted without following proper procedure. He informed that the Election Commission serves notices before deleting the names. Sh Ravi Kiran added that the voters can lodge a complaint through 1-9-5-0 helpline number in case of finding their names deleted from voters list. This will aid in the resolution of grievances quickly.
