Famous poet K. Siva Reddy launches CCVA’s multilingual international poet’s meet

Amaravati: 6th International Multilingual poets meet Amaravati Poetic Prism 2020 was inaugurated by K. Siva Reddy, famous poet, Member, Central Committee, Kendra Sahitya Academy and Recipient of Saraswati Samman and Kabir Samman on Saturday through virtual mode, in which 162 poets from 32 countries representing 40 Languages participated. Siva Reddy said that poetry is the only means through which the truth is conveyed and binds the people cutting across all the barriers. He said such meets would kindle harmony Worldwide.

Dr Y. Tejaswini Chairperson Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati, (CCVA), presided over the Inaugural Session, said that CCVA in association with Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Telugu (CIIL), Department of Language and Culture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is organising the event during the pandemic for the 6th time and the anthology brought out reflects the feelings of the poets on Environment and Ecology the theme of this year. Padma Shri Vishnu Pandya, Chairman, Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, Dr. N. Gopi, Former Vice-Chancellor, PS Telugu University, Dr. Papineni Sivasankar, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Awardee, Dr. D. Muniratnam Naidu, PD, Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Telugu (CIIL), Mamidi Hari Krishna, Director, Dept. of Language & Culture, Govt. of Telangana, Dr. Deerghasi Vizaibhaskar, Convener of the poets meet and Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Property Realcon Pvt. Ltd., participated in the meet.

During the 1st Day of the meet seven poetry sessions were organized in which 75 poets from India and Abroad recited their poems in different world languages. Dr. Sivasankar Papineni, Dr. D. Srinivasacharya, Dr. D. Vizaibhaskar, Dr Vasant Kumar Perla, Rolf Ishvar Doppenberg, Sikhamani Sanjeeva Rao, Chaired the sessions. The poets have suggested solutions to the various problems of environment and Ecology that impact the earth & mankind most of the International Poets like Rolf Ishvar Doppenberg said that the break out session gave them a thrilling experience apart from the reading of their poems.
