CM KCR condolences the death of Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed deep shock over the death of former President “Bharata Ratna” Pranab Mukherjee. The CM said it was unfortunate that the best efforts put in by doctors for the past several weeks, to save the life of ailing former President did not succeed. The CM said that Pranab Mukherjee had a special affinity with the Telangana issue. KCR reminded that Pranab Mukherjee who headed the Committee on separate Telangana State issue formed by the then UPA government, had the distinction of signing the formation of Telangana State Bill.  “The former President used to say that there was justice in demand for a separate Telangana statehood and he used to offer several useful suggestions to me.

Pranab Mukherjee bestowed special praise on me saying that very few leaders have the rare opportunity of seeing the movement launched by them reaching its goal and he said I am privileged to have that rare opportunity and greatness,” the CM said.

Referring to the book The Coalition Years written by Pranab Da, the CM recalled that the Telangana statehood issue was also mentioned in the book. In the book, Pranab Mukherjee also narrated an incident where I emphatically said that was only interested in Telangana issue but would not care for any portfolio. The former president visited the Yadadri temple complex and congratulated for the renovation works going on there at the site. The CM said in Pranab Mukherjee’s death there was a void in the country’s political arena, which cannot be filled. On his personal behalf, on behalf of people in Telangana State, the CM paid rich tributes to the departed soul. The CM conveyed his heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved family.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the sad demise of our most respected former President of India Pranab Mukherjee. A great visionary, a Statesman par excellence, a great Orator, a Writer, a shrewd parliamentarian and above all a great Human Being – all in one. The passing away of this Great Son of India is a loss not only to India but humanity at large.

Pranab Mukherjee will always be remembered as an astute leader who upheld democratic traditions and values. In his passing away the nation has lost a great leader, administrator and a wonderful human being. May his soul peacefully rest in the heaven's abode. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.”


Mohammed Mahmood Ali condolences:  Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Minister for Home, Telangana State expresses his profound grief and sorrow on the demise of Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India. He said, Pranab Mukherjee  had served as the  President of India from 2012 until 2017 whose Political Career was very long for about 50 Years. Home Minister reminded that……. he held several important ministerial portfolios in the Government of India like Defence, External Affairs and Finance besides being Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha.  He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna last year. His demise is a great loss to the nation. He played a pivotal and crucial role in formation of Telangana State. Our Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana State Chandrasekhar Rao ji always adored him for his role in giving separate statehood for Telangana. He said that he prays The Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family members.
