“Heart” problems among youngsters, a major concern: Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital

  • Hospital organizes ‘walkathon’ to create awareness on heart problems among young people
Hyderabad, October 6th, 2021: Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare facilities in the city, today organized a “Walkathon” to create awareness on heart ailments among young population in the country, and to encourage healthy living among the people in the society. Hundreds of enthusiastic participants took part in the event which started at 6 a.m., and each of the participant was given a t-shirt and a participation certificate as a recognition for their involvement in spreading awareness on healthy living.
 
Commenting on the activity, Dr. Satwinder Singh Sabharwal, COO, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital said, “Covid-19 pandemic has shifted our focus away from more serious and impending ailments like the cardiovascular diseases. Each year, millions of people die to preventable reasons, and it is important for those involved in the healthcare delivery system spread awareness about these problems. The number of young people suffering from heart ailments is increasing, and it is important we spread awareness on the problem and help them overcome the problem.”
 
Enthusiastic participants took part in the 5kms walkathon that started at the Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital and covered many localities in the vicinity of the hospital. Along with the COO, members of Cardiology department, doctors and representatives from various departments, support staff members, and many localities took part in the event. Through this campaign, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals aims to unite people from all backgrounds in the fight against the burden of cardiovascular diseases and encourage heart-healthy living.
