Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened India's new parliament building in Delhi on May 28, 2023. The impressive structure, constructed at a cost of Rs 970 crore, is designed to accommodate 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 300 members in the Rajya Sabha. The inaugural Parliament Session in this new building is scheduled for September 19. What's unique about this building is its triangular shape, carefully designed to make the best use of space, as explained on the Central Vista Redevelopment Project's website. It features a "constitution hall," a novel addition that places citizens "at the heart of the democracy," according to the Central Vista project website. The new parliament is also an environmentally friendly "platinum-rated green building," emphasizing energy efficiency, highlighting India's dedication to sustainable development. Moreover, it's designed to be accessible to people with disabilities (divyang-friendly), offering a central lounge for member interactions in addition to the open courtyard. This new complex boasts an ultra-modern design equipped
