Vivek Ramaswamy, an Indian-American looking to be the Republican candidate for next year's US president, wants to change the H1B visa system. Many Indian tech workers want these visas. If he becomes president, Ramaswamy plans to remove the lottery system for H-1B visas. Instead, he'll use a system that looks at skills and merit. He said that right now, H-1B visas are more for the company's benefit than the worker's. Ramaswamy also mentioned that the US should stop letting people move there just because their family did. He believes that this doesn't always bring in skilled immigrants.
