In a recent incident at Mumbai Airport, a private jet skidded off the runway due to heavy rain on Thursday. This unexpected event has caused delays for many flights coming to and leaving from the airport. The runway had to be temporarily closed for safety reasons. However, after receiving clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), it is now open again for flight operations. Among the passengers on the private jet, three people were reported to have suffered injuries. Fortunately, there have been no casualties reported at this time. Due to the temporary closure of the runway, several flights had to be redirected to other airports. Specifically, two Akasa Air flights and one Vistara flight were diverted to Goa, and a Vistara flight from Colombo to Mumbai was rerouted to Hyderabad. Authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers and to minimize further disruptions at Mumbai Airport.
