Hyderabad: Ten students at Gandhi Medical College in Secunderabad have been suspended for one year following their involvement in a ragging incident. Over the weekend, first-year MBBS students were allegedly subjected to ragging, prompting one of the victims to report the incident to the University Grants Commission (UGC) through its portal. Dr. Ramesh Reddy, the Director of Medical Education (DME), confirmed the incident, stating, "Ten senior students from the 2021 and 2022 batches engaged in ragging at the hostel of Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad. Following an inquiry by the anti-ragging committee, it was found that five students from the 2021 batch and five from the 2022 batch were involved. Consequently, all ten students have been suspended from the college for one year."
