Employees all across the state united against the CPS (Contributory Pension System), taking a stand by attending government offices and schools wearing black badges. The CPS employees expressed their dissatisfaction, marking September 1, the day the CPS was implemented, as a somber occasion for them. Protests were organized widely to advocate for the reinstatement of the OPS (Old Pension System). Employees also initiated a signature collection campaign against the GPS (Government Pension Scheme) at the AP Secretariat. CPS employees from various districts joined together at the Secretariat to oppose the GPS proposal and participate in the signature drive. The AP Secretariat CPS Association stated that their protest aims to bring back the previous pension system. The association pointed out that the government had suppressed their previous protests strongly, using force to quell the agitation last year.
