The Chandrayaan-3's lander captured recent images of the Moon's far side, revealing prominent craters. These images were taken to assist the Vikram lander in finding a safe landing area for its historic touch down in the unexplored lunar south pole region. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) shared the images and mentioned that the camera used for this purpose was developed by SAC/ISRO. The identified craters include Hayn, Boss L, Mare Humboldtianum, and Bel'kovich. The far side of the Moon is the portion always facing away from Earth due to its rotation.
