Tirumala: Following the tragic leopard attack that claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl near the Tirumala Tirupati Balaji temple, new safety measures have been introduced. Pilgrims making the uphill trek will now move in groups of one hundred, accompanied by guards. They will also receive wooden sticks to deter wild animals. To prevent attracting wildlife, littering along the route and feeding monkeys is prohibited. A proposal to fence the pedestrian area, sent to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, awaits approval due to the temple's location in a reserved forest area.
