In response to recent cheetah attacks, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has announced a ban on children under the age of 15 walking to Tirumala after 2 PM. The decision was made as a safety measure, especially in light of a recent attack on a young girl. In addition to this restriction, children visiting Tirumala will now be given hand tags at the 7th mile checkpoint. These tags will contain vital information, including the child's name, parents' phone numbers, and a police toll-free number. The measure is designed to quickly locate children if they become separated from their parents. The new rules aim to increase the safety of pilgrims, particularly children, as they make their way to the sacred site.
