Tirumala: Following the tragic killing of a six-year-old girl by a leopard on the Alipiri Footpath route, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has bolstered security with forest and police departments. Two cages are ready 24/7, and 500 CCTV cameras will be installed along the route. The TTD urges caution for parents trekking with children. In a proactive move, groups of 100 people will be accompanied by guards at vulnerable points. TTD Trust Board Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy assured devotee safety, offering a Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia for the bereaved family and encouraging vigilance during footpath treks.
