Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the BJP-led Centre, stating that the no-confidence motion is fortunate for the NDA and represents a test for the Opposition instead. He remarked that the people of India have repeatedly shown trust in his government, and he took the opportunity to thank them. Modi asserted that the no-confidence motion has previously worked in favor of the NDA, highlighting the 2018 instance where the Opposition's motion led to more votes for the BJP and NDA. He playfully suggested that the motion might be a divine blessing, and even predicted a record-breaking victory for the NDA and BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The no-trust motion was brought by Congress on behalf of the Opposition bloc, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), and initiated by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi.
