During an overnight naval drone attack launched by Ukraine on Russia's Black Sea navy base in Novorossiysk, a Russian warship suffered severe damage. This marked the first instance of the Ukrainian navy projecting its power beyond the country's shores. The attack temporarily disrupted civilian ship movement at the port, which handles 2% of the world's oil supply and exports grain. However, operations at the port returned to normal after the interruption. The Russian defense ministry asserted that they had successfully repelled the Ukrainian attack, during which two sea drones were deployed and subsequently destroyed.
