In a bid to ease traffic congestion and enhance transportation in Hyderabad, the Metro Managing Director (MD) NVS Reddy has announced a comprehensive expansion plan for the city's metro network. The decision was taken during a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, demonstrating the government's commitment to investing in the city's transportation infrastructure. During a press conference held on Tuesday, NVS Reddy unveiled the crucial details of the ambitious expansion plan. The proposed expansion will entail the construction of a 22-kilometer metro corridor connecting Patancheruvu to Narsingi. Additionally, a 40-kilometer metro corridor will be developed from Shamshabad Jn (NH44) via Tukkuguda, Bongulur to Pedda Amberpet (NH65), ensuring improved accessibility for residents and commuters in these areas. Moreover, the metro corridor will be extended from Medchal (NH44) to Patancheruvu (NH65), spanning 29 kilometers via Dundigal Jn, and from Tarnaka to ECIL, covering an 8-kilometer distance with five stops.
