Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (CM KCR) paid a special visit to the birthplace of renowned Marathi poet and social reformer Annabhau Sathe in Maharashtra's Sangli district on Tuesday. CM KCR started his journey from Begumpet airport and arrived at Kolhapur airport. He began his visit by seeking blessings at the revered Goddess Ambabai Matha temple in Kolhapur. Later, he paid his respects at the statue of Annabhau Sathe and participated in the birth anniversary celebrations. During his address in Kolhapur, CM KCR made an important request, urging for the esteemed Bharat Ratna award to be conferred upon Annabhau Sathe. He expressed his intention to personally request Prime Minister Modi to honor Annabhau Sathe with the Bharat Ratna, recognizing his remarkable literary talents and contributions to society. Additionally, reports suggest that CM KCR also took the opportunity to meet with the family members of the esteemed social reformer at their residence in the afternoon.
