In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued notices to the Center in response to summoning women to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for investigation. The apex court has set a deadline of six weeks for the Center to submit its response in this matter. Notably, three prominent cases, including Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's wife's summons, will be investigated together, as clarified by the Supreme Court. The petition filed by Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee seeking his wife's exemption from appearing before the ED office for questioning has reached the Supreme Court for consideration. Additionally, Kalvakuntla Kavitha and Nalini Chidambaram have also filed petitions in the Supreme Court after receiving summons from the ED for investigation. Today, the bench adjourned these cases, stating that they require thorough hearings based on their merits. During this period, the Enforcement Directorate has been granted six weeks to file its counter-affidavit, following which the petitioners will have two weeks to submit their
