Hyderabad: Chief Minister KCR gave his approval on Saturday for a long-awaited raise in Aasara pensions meant for the differently-abled. The pensions for the differently-abled have finally been increased from Rs 3,016 per month to Rs 4,016 per month, fulfilling the Chief Minister's promise made during a public meeting in Mancherial on June 9. However, there were unfortunate delays in issuing the orders, which resulted in the distribution of the old pensions in July, causing frustration among the beneficiaries. Addressing these lingering issues, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with concerned ministers and officials at the Secretariat on Saturday. This proactive step paved the way for immediate orders to be issued, ensuring the implementation of the revised pensions. The move brings relief to the 5,16,890 differently-abled beneficiaries in the state who were eagerly awaiting the increase in Aasara pensions.
