New Delhi: During the NDA meeting held on Tuesday, Chirag Paswan, the President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by touching his feet. In a warm response, the Prime Minister immediately picked him up and embraced him in a hug. This interaction holds significant political implications, as Chirag Paswan had expressed his dissatisfaction with the BJP's decision to appoint his uncle Pashupati Paras as a Central minister. Despite this disagreement, Paswan attended the NDA meeting after holding discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda on Monday. Prime Minister Modi's gesture of hugging Paswan sends a significant message to Bihar's voters. However, the matter concerning the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, which was traditionally contested by Ram Vilas Paswan, remains unresolved as both Pashupati Paras and Chirag Paswan stand firm on their positions.
