The Ministry of Railways has announced a discounted fare scheme targeting trains with AC sitting accommodation that have experienced less than 50% occupancy over the previous 30 days. This initiative is set to apply exclusively to AC Chair Car and Executive classes across all such trains, including those with Anubhuti and Vistadome coaches. Passengers can look forward to receiving up to a 25% discount on the base fare of their tickets. However, other charges, such as reservation fees, Superfast surcharge, and Goods and Services Tax (GST), will be applied separately. Consequently, passengers opting for Vande Bharat trains with less than 50% occupancy in the last month may enjoy up to a 25% reduction on their base fare. The Ministry has stated that this scheme will be subjected to regular reviews and modifications, extensions, or withdrawals may be implemented based on the occupancy levels of the trains.
