In a substantial leap forward for rail travel, the soon-to-launch Vande Bharat Express is set to commence its operations connecting Vijayawada and Chennai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to virtually inaugurate this much-anticipated semi-high-speed train service on July 7, with commercial services set to roll out from July 8. The latest addition to Tamil Nadu's Vande Bharat train fleet, the third of its kind, is expected to significantly cut down travel time between the two cities. The train is slated to make intermediate stops at Gudur, Renigunta, and Katpadi before arriving in Chennai and will retrace the same route on its return journey.
