In a recent decision, the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has made changes to the biometric thumb impression requirement for candidates appearing in the Group - IV services recruitment examination. Candidates scheduled to take the exam on Saturday, July 1, are now instructed to affix their thumb impression in the nominal roll, rather than recording their biometric thumb impression. The collection of the thumb impression will take place after the candidates have handed over their OMR sheets to the invigilator at the end of each session. The modification comes as a response to the massive number of applicants and the logistical challenges faced by the TSPSC. The Group - IV recruitment notification issued by the TSPSC attracted a staggering 9.50 lakh candidates for 8,039 vacancies across various departments. To manage such a large number of candidates effectively, the TSPSC has adjusted the thumb impression collection process. The recruitment test will be conducted in two sessions.
