In a remarkable occurrence in Mandya, a retiring Sub-Inspector, B.S. Venkatesh, has passed on his responsibilities to his successor and daughter, BV Varsha, at the Central Police Station. This unique instance of a father handing over authority to his daughter has sparked interest and become a point of discussion in the region. Venkatesh, who hails from Huliyurdurga in the Tumkur district, began his journey in law enforcement as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) in 2010. He was selected under the ex-servicemen quota following his 16-year service in the army. His tenure in the police force saw him working in various districts, including Mandya, Mysore, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar.
