In a remarkable occurrence in Mandya, a retiring Sub-Inspector, B.S. Venkatesh, has passed on his responsibilities to his successor and daughter, BV Varsha, at the Central Police Station. This unique instance of a father handing over authority to his daughter has sparked interest and become a point of discussion in the region. Venkatesh, who hails from Huliyurdurga in the Tumkur district, began his journey in law enforcement as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) in 2010. He was selected under the ex-servicemen quota following his 16-year service in the army. His tenure in the police force saw him working in various districts, including Mandya, Mysore, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar. He served at the Mandya Central Station for one and a half years before his recent transfer to the Mandya S.P. office. The newly appointed Sub-Inspector, BV Varsha, is a 2022 batch PSI. She underwent her training in Kalaburagi and served a one-year probationary period in Mandya. Now, taking up the mantle from her
