Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister KCR has made the decision to drop the sedition case filed against civil rights leader Professor Haragopal. The state's DGP has been instructed to withdraw the cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UPA) against Haragopal and other individuals. The case, which was registered on August 19 last year at Tadwai Police Station in Mulugu district, accused Haragopal and 152 others of various charges, including violations under the Arms Act and Indian Penal Code. The revelation of this development has sparked a sensation in Telangana, with leaders of public associations and opposition parties expressing their outrage over the inclusion of Haragopal and others in the case based on their names appearing in Maoists' diaries.
