Manipur: Violating curfew restrictions, a mob of around 200 individuals attacked and set ablaze the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State for Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, in Imphal town. The incident occurred late Thursday night while the minister was in Delhi. Police officials reported that despite the efforts of security guards and firefighters, a portion of the minister's house was damaged by the fire. However, prompt action managed to prevent the complete destruction of the property. This incident follows the burning of two other houses owned by local residents and clashes between the Rapid Action Force of Manipur and a mob earlier in the day in the heart of Imphal town. The mob, which also engaged in altercations with security forces at various locations, demanded a swift resolution to the ongoing ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The mob expressed discontent with the perceived lack of action from ministers and MLAs
