Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Telangana High Court's order to release Erra Gangireddy, the prime accused in the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, on July 1. It is learnt that the Telangana High Court had cancelled Gangireddy's default bail on April 27. However, the Supreme Court had set a deadline of June 30 for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to complete its investigation. Considering this, the High Court ordered that Gangireddy should be released on July 1. In response to this, Viveka's daughter Sunita Reddy filed a petition in the Supreme Court, raising concerns about potential witness tampering if Gangireddy were to be granted bail. The Supreme Court, hearing the plea, has now stayed the High Court's order to release Gangireddy on July 1.
