In a high-profile incident involving political figures in India, AV Subba Reddy, a leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was allegedly assaulted by former minister Bhuma Akhilapriya. The event took place on May 16th amidst TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh's political procession, the Yuva Gala Padayatra, within the confines of the Nandyal constituency. Post the incident, Akhilapriya and her spouse found themselves under arrest in Allagadda on the subsequent day, May 17th, facing serious allegations linked to the attack. The couple were promptly delivered into the custody of the Nandyal court, which commanded a 14-day judicial detention. Subsequent to the court's decision, Akhilapriya was transferred to Kurnool Women's Jail for the duration of her custody. However, she did not remain there long. Upon the issuance of a bail order, she gained her freedom from the Kurnool detention facility. The court decided to grant Akhilapriya conditional bail, with the terms yet to be fully disclosed.
