Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao met with over 30 CEOs in Washington DC to encourage them to set up IT companies in Tier-II cities of Telangana. He highlighted the growth of IT in these cities and discussed the government's measures to support the industry. The minister invited NRIs to establish offices in their hometowns and create rural employment. Several MOUs were signed with CEOs to set up offices in cities like Nizamabad, Siddipet, and Nalgonda, which will result in over 2,500 IT jobs and indirect employment for 10,000 people. KTR emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that employees can work efficiently from anywhere, and improved connectivity in Tier-II towns will facilitate business operations. The meeting was coordinated by Lax Chepuri and Mahesh Bigala with the support of the IT Serve Alliance organization.
