The Telangana High Court has put a halt to the installation of a statue of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) in Khammam following the submission of 14 writ petitions opposing the installation. Various organizations, including Srikrishna JAC, Adibhatla Kalapeetham, and Yadav Sanghas, have filed petitions in the High Court, citing their objections to the installation of NTR's idol in the form of Krishna. In response, the High Court has stayed the installation until further notice and issued notices to the organizers, including Puvwada Ajay. The fans of NTR had planned to erect a statue of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the founder of TDP, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, at the Khammam Lakaram pond. The unveiling ceremony was scheduled to take place on May 28, marking NTR's 100th birth anniversary. A specially crafted 54-feet statue of NTR was being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.3 crore in preparation for the event.
