Tirumala: On Sunday, a tragic road accident occurred on the down ghat road leading to Tirupati from Tirumala, resulting in the death of two women and injuries to 15 others. As per reports, a group of devotees from Anantapur had completed their pilgrimage to Tirumala and were on their way back home in a vehicle. They had stopped near the 25th turning on the down ghat road when a speeding vehicle carrying 15 devotees lost control while negotiating a turn and collided with the Anantapur devotees' vehicle from behind. The impact of the collision was so severe that two women, identified as Renukamma (24) from D Hirehal mandal in Anantapur district and Parvathamma (70) from Medak district in Telangana, died on the spot, while 15 others were injured.
