A 23-year-old woman house surgeon was fatally stabbed by a school teacher while she was treating him at Kottarakkara Government Taluk Hospital on Wednesday, according to sources. The victim has been identified as Vandana Das, a final year MBBS student from Kollam Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences & Research hailing from Kaduthuruthy in Kottayam. The accused, S Sandeep, a 42-year-old teacher at Nedumbana UP School, reportedly stabbed the young house surgeon six times with a pair of scissors, causing her death in the hospital while she was dressing his wounds on his leg. The accused also attacked five others, including home guard and sub-inspector, and vandalized the hospital. Sandeep was taken to the hospital by the police after he suffered injuries on his leg following a quarrel with his neighbors. There were reports that Sandeep had undergone treatment at a de-addiction center for a few days recently. However, it is not clear what provoked him to attack the doctor. In
