This meeting took place amidst rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with Moscow claiming that Ukraine was involved in a recent drone attack on the Kremlin aimed at assassinating Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has denied any involvement by his government. In a press event, the warmth between the two women was on full display as they posed for photographs. However, Moscow accused the US of orchestrating the drone attack, which was also denied by Washington.
