Tensions between Russia and Ukraine reached a boiling point at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Turkey, where a Ukrainian Member of Parliament (MP) punched a member of the Russian delegation. The incident occurred after the Russian delegate, Olga Timofeeva, snatched the Ukrainian flag from behind Oleksandr Marikovski, the Ukrainian MP, during an interview. In a video of the incident that has gone viral, Valery Stavitsky, a member of the Russian team, can be seen taking the Ukrainian flag from Marikovski, who then punches Stavitsky in retaliation. The scuffle was quickly broken up by other attendees at the summit.
