Cricketer Mohammed Shami's wife, Hasin Jahan, has taken her case to the Supreme Court after the Calcutta High Court dismissed her plea to lift the stay on her husband's arrest warrant. A sessions court in West Bengal had previously stayed the arrest warrant issued against Shami. Jahan's plea alleges that Shami was engaged in "illicit extra-marital relations and was engaged in sexual activities." She also claims that the Kolkata sessions court stayed action against Shami, despite the cricketer "did not even pay for the stay of criminal trial, and his sole grievance was only against the issuance of arrest warrants." Jahan reiterated her allegations of dowry demands against Shami in her plea to the Supreme Court.
