Senior film producer Aswini Dutt has sparked controversy with his recent comments about the prestigious Nandi Awards. Dutt stated that the current season is different and claimed that awards for "Best Goonda" and "Best Rowdy" are now given out. He added that there will come a time in the next 2-3 years when films will receive awards and everyone will be recognized. Another senior producer, Adiseshagiri Rao, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the importance of the Nandi Awards has decreased since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Adiseshagiri Rao accused both state governments of being disinterested in the event. He also claimed that Government awards no longer hold the same value in the film industry.
