Devotees who attended the annual Chandanotsavam at Simhachalam faced multiple difficulties on Sunday due to poor arrangements. There was a lack of coordination between different departments, including police, endowment, revenue, and others, resulting in long queues and hours of delay for darshan of Lord Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy. Despite over 2,000 police personnel being deployed, severe traffic congestion occurred in Simhachalam. Devotees expressed their frustration over the poor arrangements, including the failure to provide drinking water and toilets. VIPs and political leaders were given priority, and some devotees were angry at having to wait for hours despite purchasing a Rs 1,500 ticket. Several devotees questioned minister Botsa Satyanarayana and YSRCP leaders regarding the poor arrangements. Minister Botsa has also lost his cool while responding to the devotees.
