Warangal: Today, the Telangana government is celebrating World Heritage Day at the Ramappa temple in Hanamkonda. As the state's first UNESCO world heritage site, the temple showcases exquisite architecture sculpted on black granite and is a part of the state's Kakatiya-period heritage. To mark the occasion, the state government and Mulugu district administration have organized a day-long celebration with events focused on the themes of Shilpam (sculpture), Varnam (colour), and Krishnam (black). The temple grabs the attention of history buffs and everyone with intricate carvings on the walls, pillars, and ceilings depicting stories from Hindu epics like Ramayana and various other motifs will be highlighted. A morning food festival near Ramappa Lake will showcase food vendors, artisans, and micro-enterprises from the state. The festivities will also feature a musical extravaganza by music director SS Thaman, legendary percussionist Sivamani, singer Karthik, flutist Naveen, and Aarabhi Institute of Performing Arts.
