Patil Neerja Reddy, a former MLA and BJP leader, has passed away in a tragic road accident that occurred at Alur in Kurnool district. She was on her way to Hyderabad from Kurnool when the car she was travelling in overturned after a tyre burst at Beechupalli. Neerja Reddy sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kurnool. Unfortunately, she passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment. Neerja Reddy's husband, Seshireddy, was a former MLA from Pattikonda who was killed in a faction clash. Her daughter currently resides in the United States. Neerja Reddy was elected as a Congress MLA from the Aluru constituency from 2009 to 2014. Before that, she had contested as an independent candidate in the Pattikonda constituency but lost. In 2009, she won the Aluru seat by a margin of 5,000 votes against a candidate from the Praja Rajyam Party. She later joined the YSRCP and was currently serving as a BJP
