A team of scientists hailing from the Udaipur Solar Observatory is currently undertaking a groundbreaking initiative to establish the largest telescope in Asia. The project, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Indian Space Research Organisation's Aditya L1 Mission, is focused on studying the Sun. The Udaipur Solar Observatory has a reputation for conducting highly advanced research on solar observations, leveraging a 50-centimeter telescope. As per the scientists associated with the project, the telescope that is being constructed in the vicinity of Pangong Lake in Ladakh is poised to become a momentous milestone for India. During a media briefing, one of the scientists involved in the project revealed that the observatory situated close to the lake has received support from the Department of Defence and the Government of India. He went on to share the exciting accomplishments that are expected to result from the construction of this immense telescope.
