Coast Guard helicopter crashes at Cochin International Airport
Cochin: On Sunday, a Coast Guard helicopter crashed just after takeoff from its enclave at the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), resulting in two individuals being injured. The incident occurred during a training flight and forced the suspension of airport operations for two hours.
According to sources, the Advanced Light Helicopter of the Coast Guard crashed as it began taking off from the helipad at approximately 12:55 pm. One of the individuals involved sustained a minor injury to their hand, as per preliminary reports.
The accident caused disruption to airport operations, with all flights temporarily suspended until the area could be cleared and the helicopter removed. The injured individuals were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
