Viral Video: UK PM Rishi Sunak Shows Off Cricketing Skills with T20 World Cup Winners
Who says politicians can't be sporty? British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak showed off his cricketing skills when he met with the England team that triumphed in the T20 World Cup last year. In a rare sight, Sunak rolled up his formal shirt sleeves and took on deliveries from none other than Sam Curran and Chris Jordan, right in the garden of his official residence at 10 Downing Street.
The Indian-origin leader even had a go at bowling, showing that he's not one to shy away from a challenge. While facing Curran's spin delivery, Sunak missed a shot, much to the amusement of onlookers. But he redeemed himself by edging a delivery off Jordan's bowling, only to be caught in the slips to thunderous cheers all around.
England's T20 World Cup victory was certainly one for the history books, as they became the first team to hold both the ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup titles at the same time. And with Sunak's impressive cricketing display, it seems that British politics might have a new star player in their midst.
