Telangana Chief Minister KCR to tour rain-affected districts today
Hyderabad: The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao, is scheduled to embark on a day-long tour of villages affected by crop damage due to untimely rains across the state on Thursday. The authorities of Mahabubabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Khammam districts have been instructed to make the necessary arrangements for the CM's visit. During his visit, the CM will meet with affected farmers and offer his condolences.
Officials have indicated that KCR may announce a relief package for the rain-affected ryots. Paddy, cotton, mango, and horticulture crops in many parts of the north Telangana districts were severely damaged by the heavy rains, with preliminary estimates suggesting that nearly Rs 200 crore worth of crops were destroyed.
