Hyderabad Gets Massive Boost with Largest US Consulate in South Asia

The United States Consulate General in Hyderabad has opened its new facility in Nanakramguda after operating for 15 years from the historic Paigah Palace in Begumpet. The new consulate was built on a 12-acre site and cost $340 million, with $70 million of local investment and over 1,000 American, Indian, and third-country nationals employed for its construction. The US Consulate General represents the United States in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha and supports a wide range of key issues, including higher education, military cooperation, health and environmental issues, and commercial ties.

The new facility will increase staff, including visa officers, to continue expanding US-India ties. Visa applicants with scheduled interviews should go to the new facility in Nanakramguda, while all other visa services will continue to take place at the Visa Application Center located at Hitec City Metro Station.
