On March 13, Indians worldwide erupted in joy as two films, The Elephant Whisperer and SS Rajamouli’s RRR, each won an Oscar at the Los Angeles awards ceremony. The Elephant Whisperer is a touching short documentary film that follows the story of a couple who takes in an orphaned elephant named Raghu and raises him to become a beloved attraction at Theppakadu elephant camp. After the documentary's Oscar win, crowds flocked to the camp to catch a glimpse of the tusker. The film's success is due to the talent of two women, Guneet Monga, the producer, and Kartiki Gonsalves, the director, who worked their magic to bring the heartwarming story to life.
