Surekha Yadav, a trailblazing woman in the field of locomotive transportation, has achieved yet another remarkable feat by becoming the first female operator of the newly-introduced semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express train. On Monday, she expertly navigated the train's journey between Solapur station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai, marking a historic moment for women in the industry. Having broken barriers and shattered glass ceilings since becoming India's first female train driver back in 1988, Yadav hails from the western Maharashtra region of Satara and has received numerous accolades at both state and national levels for her outstanding accomplishments. Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to pilot the cutting-edge Vande Bharat Train, Yadav was thrilled to operate this marvel of modern technology.
