The alleged derogatory remarks made by the Telangana Bhartiya Janata Party State president, Bandi Sanjay towards Member of Legislative Council (MLC) K Kavitha on Saturday have sparked outrage. GHMC Mayor Vijayalakshmi, along with women corporators and other BRS Cadres, staged a protest near Raj Bhavan. According to the GHMC Mayor, they intended to meet with the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submit a complaint letter against Bandi Sanjay for his alleged comments directed at BRS MLC Kavitha. However, the police did not grant them permission to do so, citing the large number of protesters present. The police only permitted a few protesters to meet with the Governor. Mayor Vijayalakshmi criticized the Governor Tamilisai for not allowing them to meet with her, stating that they had launched a peaceful protest and questioned the effectiveness of the Praja Darbar.
