Electronics giant Foxconn has signed an agreement with the government of Telangana to set up a manufacturing facility that has the potential to generate employment for over 100,000 people in the next decade. The deal was announced after Foxconn Chairman Young Liu met with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of diversifying electronics manufacturing to ensure a resilient supply chain and the role played by state governments. He also stated that the government's new industrial policy has attracted significant investments in Telangana, and Foxconn's unit will help create employment opportunities for the youth and attract more industries to the state.
